-3id adha 06-

It was my first time celebrating eid adha without my family around. The evening of eid adha was kinda solemn. It was just me with some other roommates gathered together reciting takbir.Later, we went to the nearest canteen to buy food and break our fast together.Calling up our family was a moment of shedding tears. As i talked to my mum, she could not utter much as soon as i asked what did she cooked for eid because i'm really hungry at that night.Dad was more calmer. Though he sometimes went silent, i knew he tried to maintain the situation, telling me that it is good for me to be with other international students, celebrating eid together for it will be an unforgettable experience for me.

The next day, we woke up early.I put on my new punjab dress and was looking forward to meet other international students at the mosque. We reached the mosque quite early, and we recite takbir a couple of times before proceedng with the eid prayer. It was a wonderful sight. Some arabs brought their children along and we had a great time greeting and wishing each other '3id mobarak'.Later, we gathered at the econs canteen for breakfast and followed by lunch. At 3pm, we boarded a bus to KLCC to visit the aquarium. It almost resembles the Underwater World in Singapore but slightly larger. We took pictures and bought a few gifts before we went back. Such a wonderful day :) Posted by Picasa

-a new day has come-

Gosh,it has been a long time since i last blog in.Suddenly, i have passed the year 2005 and now facing eith the new challenges and adventures of 2006.ok, i bet most of u wanted to know how is it life going for me in Kl. By the way, alhamdulillah i find it great to be in the new environment. Welcome to the garden of knowledge and virute! It is a place where we rule our our own rules, play our own games and songs.

Dated 22nd november 2005, tuesday,it was my first time stepping in IIUM.Initially i felt nervous and excited at the same time. Finally, after all the hard work and struggle,i have survived the primary test of entering the new life which is being accepted by IIUM and seeing the many faces of people coming from different countries and backgrounds somehow made me think that albeit our different hopes and dreams, we shared a common destiny. We are meant to be the residents and the members of the IIUM :)

The orientation week ran out smoothly, i got to make friends from various countries and backgrounds.People like sharmila, an indian resident from arab saudi, siblings naila and adnan from united states, nusaibah from phillipines, hanat from nigeria, meriem from eritrea etc. It is indeed a symbol of united colours in IIUM.

On the other hand, the orientation week is also considered as hectic week where we got to 'swallow' final preparations for our EPT (english placement test),APT (arabic placement test), TPT(Tilawah placement test) and FKT (fundamental knowledge test). It was tough at first sight as each test needed us to go through a few stages in order to complete the whole test process. It was considered as my secondary test of the year. But alhamdulillah, i've managed to pull through and have started my kuliyyah as a 1st semester 1st year student :)

Never did I thought that the academic calendar in university would be so fast hence making me breatheless most of the time. It was like for a moment you were about to relax when suddenly assignments, tests and tasks flow drastically towards you and you were expected to complete all of the above mentioned at the same time.I guess i'll be posting the same question a ridhwan did....>>i wonder why some people said that university is much easier than A level..hmm???? any valid answer for that??

Nonetheless, i'm lookin forward for more adventures to come..yeap more exciting experiences await in my none other beloved second home>>IIUM :)
